Inside, you'll see an in-season practice that shows what it takes to get McGuyre's team ready for the NCAA Tournament. Coach McGuyre shares how he gets the most out of his players - never settling for less than the full effort.

Motivating Warm-Ups

Mix up your warm-ups by motivating your players to "not be the last to get started." Coach McGuyre challenges his players during their warm-up drills to not let the ball drop as they focus on technical skills. You'll see different pepper drills that focus on hitter/digger skills and incorporating hitting with a jump, plus various motivational consequences that keep athletes engaged in preventing the ball from hitting the floor.

Wash Games & 6v6

McGuyre runs plenty of wash games by setting team goals. You will see how he pushes players to mentally fight through and overcome tough scenarios during the wash games. While your players work through the drills, they will improve their ball control, serve receive, and putting together runs.

The final portion of practice is dedicated to serve receive patterns and how to run a fast tempo offense. Great offense develops great defense, and Coach McGuyre's teams have certainly proven this over the past several years!

If you're interested in running a fast tempo offense and learning how Ryan McGuyre motivates his players, this open practice video is the one you need to see!
